The rPET 2025 challenge, launched by the Textile Exchange and the UN Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action, aims to increase the use of recycled polyester in apparel brands. Participating brands commit to sourcing 45% of their polyester from recycled sources by 2025 and by 2030, with over 150 companies already onboard. However, using rPET presents unique challenges, including verifying the percentage of recycled materials in the fabric. With the trend towards eco-friendly products growing in the textile industry, it's crucial for ide brands to prod and proof of their claims.
